Material World

Racing Clubs

How would you like to have a share of one of Material World’s foals, watch its development, visit it on ‘open days’, and then participate in the anticipation and excitement of having it trained to go jump racing and then finally going to the races to watch it run?

It is a very exciting experience to watch a racehorse – part of which you own - run at a famous race track. Being a member of a horse racing club, partnership or syndicate and going to the races is a great fun social occasion. Champagne in the directors suite for the winning connections – the elation of being in the winners enclosure – talking to the jockey  - and the joy of watching the recorded re-run with friends at home afterwards.

Of course, very few racehorses make it to the top of their class. Nothing in life is certain but there is every chance that the foals out of Material World could be equally as outstanding as she has been. They will certainly attract attention. Although there will always be exceptions, good pedigree is a major factor in producing star quality as is often emphasised by TV horse racing commentators, horse racing newspaper editors and bloodstock auctioneers. Material World has proven courage, form and pedigree.

There are now two racing clubs for the offspring of Material World:

Storm Force Ten
This is an exciting new racing partnership - limited to just ten persons - to share in the fun of the development and racing career of Storm Patrol with all the social and hopefully tax free prize money benefits. Shirocco's first offspring include Brown Panther - impressive winner at Royal Ascot in 2011 and stayed on well to finish second in the 2011 St. Leger, Grant Vent - group winner in Europe and many others - watch out for other improving Shirocco fillies - Shirocco Star and Bana Wu in 2012. Schism also won easily over hurdles too so Shirocco, described by Timeform and the Racing Post as an outstanding performer over 11 - 12 furlongs, is proving that he can sire both longer distance flat winners and jump winners. SHIROCCO (GER): 13 starts, won 7 races , value £1,388,908 including the Italian Derby; German Derby; Prix de Foy; Coronation Cup (beating OUIJA BOARD); and the Breeders Cup Turf in the USA.
This combined with the fact that Material World's sire, KARINGA BAY, which won 8 races from 6 furlongs to 1 1/2 miles, came 4th in the Derby, and whose grand sire CREPELLO won the Derby and the Two Thousand Guineas makes it highly likely that the combination of speed genes in this smart filly will be a force of nature for the longer flat races with the fall back that members would be extremely unlucky not to find her in the winner's enclosure over the jumps.

The Material World Racing Club which is fully subscribed, owns the first born, Ollie, who arrived safely on the 22nd May 2009 and is by dual Ascot Gold Cup winner Kayf Tara, who is now a well proven sire including producing the first and second places for the 2011 Hennessy Gold Cup.

Members are delighted with the way their horse is progressing and the social aspects of the club - latest pictures can be found in the Ollie Gallery and on his own website http://www.ollies-world.com/
